Live. Love. Laugh.
Advice for the every day. Something I endeavor to do.
Adapted from the 1904 poem “Success” by Bessie Anderson Stanley:
He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much;
Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children;
Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
Who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty or failed to express it;
Who has left the world better than he found it,
Whether an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
Who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had;
Whose life was an inspiration;
Whose memory a benediction.

You’ll notice the format of this quote this week is a little different – I’m trying something new! I’m using the Sobbers font from the Spring Bundle from FontBundles.net. I’ll be sharing a tutorial tomorrow on how to make your own inspirational quote typography using this font, so check back on Tuesday!

Live each day as if it were your last.
A good friend of mine very suddenly passed away recently.
I was heartbroken, as she had such a zest for life. Every photo of her on Facebook she is grinning from ear to ear, or laughing. Not a serious or sad face among them, hugging her kids, her husband. I’ve known her for 10 years. We were in the same baby group together when I lived in Hawaii. Our sons had been the best of friends since they were 6 weeks old.
She was sick for a long time, and she always lived each day to its fullest, perhaps knowing how limited her time here was.
To Y., you will always be in my heart. You have left us this inspiration as your gift.

Blaze your own trail.
-Unknown
Though in part attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson,who wrote “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”…this phrase is sometimes challenging to fully embrace. But as inspiration for living, I’ve finally come to realize:
Truer words could not have been said.
May your trail always be bold and ablaze with furious amazement.
