As evidenced by my recent DIY Inspiration post, windowpane-print is everywhere! It’s a graphic, eye-catching statement that is reminiscent of checks and tartans, but feels oh-so-fresh this year. I wanted to find a way to mimic the look without splurging for it – and without messy fabric-painting; some way that would create crisp, bold lines in a cinch.
And I figured out how to make it easily (with a little help from some trim and double-stick fabric tape). Here’s how:

Another year has gone by, and now it’s time to do my yearly wrap-up of content. (This was supposed to post New Year’s Eve, but my home router is broken, so I had to write this at my local Starbucks, using their wi-fi. Thanks, Starbucks!!)

Anthropologie, season after season, comes up with the most fabulous items in their stores – and so many of them look homemade and crafty: the perfect fodder for DIY.
I noticed this beaded ladder tassel necklace during early Fall (part of Anthro’s Bijouterie necklace collection), and after clipping the photo and hunting for supplies, I finally sat down and made a DIY version. It was a bit fiddly, but incredibly rewarding to find the finished necklace looked just as amazing as the original in the catalog. (And at an $8 investment, pretty affordable too!)
