Winter is upon us here in Portland – and what comes with blustery winds, white flurries, and freezing walkways is cozy, comfy fashion. I’m a big fan of layers and usually am covered up neck to toes at work – and love this season as it presents great opportunity to get creative with the layering of my more lightweight items. Here are a couple pretty pieces that can be rotated into a winter work wardrobe with ease:
1. Choies Polychrome Colorblock Geometric Print Tie Belt Dress, $16.99
2. Modcloth Stargazing Splendor Blazer in Constellations, $89
3. Modcloth Charter School Turtleneck Sweater, $39
4. ASOS Suede Slouchy Shoulder Bag, $50

Welcome to another installment of
Chic for the Week, where I share a couple shopping picks that I can’t stop thinking about.
Yes, it’s finally Summer, and temperatures are rising. Trending right now are leafy prints reminiscent of Hawaiian-style shirts, verdant jungles, and tropical climes. Infuse your wardrobe with pieces that work just as well as separates as all together in this fun Summer outfit:
1. Basketball Jones Ivory Mesh Crop Top, $34
Super-cute and a necessity this Summer, this top looks great with jeans or a sweeping midi skirt, and will keep you cool as temperatures climb.
2. Steve Madden Bsashaa Stripe Clutch, $58
Though the name’s a little funny to say (Bsashaa??) this pretty striped clutch is no joke when it comes to mixing and matching with a variety of prints. It can’t clash. That’s why you should have it, folks – because it will go with everything in the utmost style.
3. Japanese Banana Leaf Print Skirt, $19.65
Love this leafy print! The design is really unique, too – making this an utterly unforgettable skirt at a really, really good price.
4. ASOS Penny Pointed High Heels
, $57
Sultry and gorgeous, these will make your legs look a mile long. Pair with jeans that boast a frayed, cut hem for utter gorgeousness.
Steamy Summer date-night anyone?? 😉

Welcome to another installment of
Chic for the Week, where I share a couple shopping picks that I can’t stop thinking about.
With Spring bringing forth blooms upon blooms, I’ve been wanting to #getoutstayout in all that the beautiful Pacific Northwest offers. Between the March hailstorms and pouring-rain-with-dazzling-sunshine-afternoons there have been moments of warm, windy pleasure just ripe for the hiking. But you gotta have a pair of fashionable hiking boots, some cool-looking jeans, and a top to strip off when you get too warm. Here’s what’s on my must-have list this week:
1. You’ll need something to brave the trails, and these Ahnu Sugarpine Hiking Boots
are a must. Bonus that they come in chic colors – and are lightweight and waterproof! #turquoisesolesforever
2. I’ve been wearing these Blank Denim NYC Rub a Dub Dub jeans CONSTANTLY since I got them – I used to just buy skinny jeans at Forever 21 but let me tell you, the quality is so markedly better with Blank Denim I’m never going back. These are super-soft, hug you, hold you in tight, but are not overly tight – and don’t get stretched out. Order your size for a comfy fit – order one size down for sprayed-on sexy.
3.Have I mentioned how awesome this turtleneck sweater is? Yes I have – here, where you can see the gray version in action. You can fit a little family of honey badgers underneath – and have room to spare. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: BEST. SWEATER. EVER.
4. ALWAYS gotta check ASOS for the backpacks since they have so many cool options. This Jack Wills Active Backpack will withstand weather changes and looks cool doing it. Just don’t stuff it too full or else it’ll take you over if you happen to be leaning down next to a cliff in order to tie your fashionable hiking boots… (Plus, if you’re a student, save 20% off with code UNIDAY until 4 AM EDT 3/27/15)
If you can, get out there and brave those trails! Time’s a-wasting…

Welcome to another installment of
Chic for the Week, where I share a couple shopping picks that I can’t stop thinking about.
It’s mid-March, and Spring is definitely here! Portland is uncharacteristically warm and hail-free (at least so far, fingers crossed haha) and it’s time for bare legs and showing some skin.
Here’s what’s on my wishlist this week:
1. Nothing like adding a little strappiness to your life – and this Strappy Together Orchid Purple Dress delivers that and then some. Flaunt some skin and taunt your curves in this amazing, Spring-y color.
2. I do have a thing for kitschy, fun bags – and this ASOS Popsicle Cross Body Bag is no exception. How adorbs is this?? Seriously…and I may be too old for this stuff by now, but every time I look at it, I just break out in a smile. A popsicle that won’t melt, and you can carry with you always, like your best friend in your pocket. (and use promo code GRAND to save 20% off your ASOS.com order til 3 AM EST 3/18/15!!)
3. When wearing a sexy dress, you can sometimes push it too far by adding accessories that read too overt. I like to mix things up and err on the side of caution – and these In a Classic Heel of Its Own Heels in Mint make this outfit more ladylike with their low heel. Pastel-on-pastel, in this pairing they make the dress read feminine and sweet.
4. To ward away any remaining chills, wrap up with this lightweight New Look Pretty Cream Floral Scarf. Also looks fabulous in a casual outfit with jeans and your favorite T-shirt…plus a floppy fedora. (Again, use that promo code GRAND and snap this up by Wednesday 3 AM!)
Hope you guys are having an excellent – and Springy! – start to the week!

Welcome to another installment of
Chic for the Week, where I share a couple shopping picks that I can’t stop thinking about.
Actually, Chic for the Weekend might be more appropo. And it’s technically the last weekend before March arrives, so I’m on the lookout for some pale, Springy items to usher in the season.
Here are some items that have been on my shopping wishlist lately:
1. Besides a 401K, EVERY lady needs a fluffy tulle skirt in her life, one to twirl and play with and feel utterly feminine and childlike again. Behold this Amore Tulle Skirt, currently en route to moi, which will look amazing under a moto jacket or with a tanktop camisole a la the opening credits of Sex and the City.
2. A skirt this sexy requires a lovely and ladylike piece of jewelry to set it off, and this Rose and Pearl Choker Necklace hits both the edgy contemporary note of the open fixed choker necklace popularized by Celine and Karl Lagerfeld, and a vintagey vibe. L-O-V-E!
3. It may be stating the obvious, but tongue-in-cheek accessories are totally my thing. This All Dressed Up Clutch is oh-so-cute (and super-affordable, at under $15!). Great for tucking under the arm and organizing all your essentials.
4. To keep with the soft pastel feel, this Come On Downy Cardigan is the perfect pair for the fluffy tulle skirt, since it’s equally fluffy (and your significant other won’t be able to keep his dirtymanhands off of you! 😉
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
