Top Secret Project Revealed!

bloggeroutfit As I posted on Facebook earlier today, yesterday we wrapped a full day’s shoot for this amazing promotional video project I’ve been working on. Since mid-December it’s been in pre-production, all in order to showcase this fun and FABULOUS watch brand to a fashion-loving audience. I can’t WAIT to share the finished product with all of you! Yesterday was like clockwork: we had the best crew ever (we’re talking serious film credits here), the GORGEOUS and talented Meredith Adelaide as our actress, a beautiful location just on the edge of the Pearl District, and our Production Designer who whipped a blank slate into a fully-furnished room in just over an hour.

I was posting updates on Instagram throughout the day – you can check some behind-the-scenes sneak peeks out here. What could be better than gorgeous fashion, a fun day shoot, a talented and upbeat crew, and Modify Watches, the BEST COMPANY EVER to partner with to do all this??!

Stay tuned for the finished video, coming up soon!

Review: Bag: The Ultimate Fashion Accessory by Sue Huey and Susie Draffan

bagbook1The folks over at Laurence King Publishing generously sent me a copy of one of their latest books: Bag: The Ultimate Fashion Accessory by Sue Huey and Susie Draffman. It’s an absolutely gorgeous coffee table book in a pleasing mini size (so that it incidentally actually fits in your bag! ;-). The bag on the cover appears to be heat-embossed so the quilting seems to jump of the page; that and the gold foiling would make it beautiful just sitting out for all to see.

Inside the 208-page book are sumptuous, high-fashion photographs of the world’s most iconic bags. Chanel, Celine, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Hermes, Jamin Puech: they’re all there, accompanied by quotes and insights about the designers and the arm candy itself.

In addition there are interviews with the designers and design sketches: one of my favorite behind-the-scenes things to see that really brings the bags to life and conveys the designers’ intentions.

bagbook7bagbook6The book, though not exhaustive on the history of the handbag (and notably missing a mention of some other iconic brands like Prada and Furla for instance), is a fun and fashionable romp through some of the best accessories out there. If you’re looking for a small addition to your fashion library or coffee table book collection, I’d highly recommend this (if not solely for the chic Chanel piece on the cover!)bagbook1b

Little Warrior December Spotify Playlist to Listen to While You DIY

My dear friend Lex Casciato, AKA Little Warrior, is an amazing musician and up-and-coming tour de force in the world of music. She is a regular contributor to Chic Steals, curating monthly original playlists for your to stream on Spotify, add some background music to your space, mellow out to, listen to while working on your latest DIY project, and add a little music into your life.

Here’s what she says about this month’s playlist:

This month, I bring you some slow electro jams, because December is a month requiring some extra warmth. These jams are full of vibrant voices among a mellow music bed. Sprinkled throughout this playlist are some piano tracks, including my current song of the moment “Stay” by Low – a cover of the popular Rihanna & Mikky Ekko song. The slower tempo of this playlist helps me to stay grounded, breathe in deeply, and slow down amongst the busy holiday season. When you get sick of the broken record sound of holiday music, put on this playlist and get some paper to write down your thoughts from your day, your to-do list, or just start dreaming big with your 2014 resolutions!
