Backtracking a bit to share what I wore to the March Portland Bloggers’ Meetup Event “Strike a Pose” 2 Sundays ago. (I still need to post photos from that super-fun day…which I will…soon….)
Besides great networking and yummy food, they also had arranged a photo session with professional photographers. I was paired up with Ali Murray of Murray Photography.
Her photos turned out just amazing! She gets the lighting and coloring just perfect in-camera so the resulting photos have this bright, pretty, ethereal look to them. Her wedding photography (one of her main areas of expertise) is gorgeous and swoonworthy! Seriously, hire this girl – she is just amazing!
On this gray, drizzly Sunday I went for layers of blush pink and beige: cascading neutrals like a parfait of some sorts. The ruffled top is I think supposed to be a dress…but it’s a little short, so I just wear it as a tunic. I love its volume and raw-ness. Even though ShopAKIRA no longer offers it, you can find something similar from Free People here or here.
These gold-capped ballet flats from Sole Society have been total workhorses in my wardrobe. They’re neutral so they go with just about everything, and they look dressy with the gold-capped toe so are perfect for my work outfits. Sadly they have sold out of this exact pair but they do have these T-strap ones (next on my wishlist in a pretty yellow-and-gold) and these beige linen ones too. Plus you could DIY your own from some regular flats using spray paint like in my DIY Miu Miu Rhinestone Embellished Flats tutorial here.
Nails are O.P.I. Lincoln Park After Dark in matte.
The super-studded bag is from Nicole Lee Handbags and the bear keychain charm my mother-in-law gave me from a trip to Korea. I suspect it is a knockoff of a higher-priced animal keychain charm (like Gucci or similar…?)
Hope everyone had a lovely week:-)
I am so excited about all the Easter festivities we have going on this weekend…Lil Tot is beside himself with anticipation!!
Thanks so much for the photo session, Ali – it was fabulous! 😀

Thank you Katarina! So sweet of you to say:-) Looks like getting out of my backyard for my photos once in awhile is a good thing!;-)
The colour is yours. Wonderful. I would have worn leggings tough, but, looks rather nice.
Thank you, Laura – so kind of you! Probably I will go with leggings next time now that it’s getting warmer…
