I’m a member of the Portland Blogger’s Brunch group: a meetup of about 50+ local bloggers who meet once every two months to network, talk about all things blogging, and make some local blogger friends.  I went to my first meetup in December, and it was so much fun!

Yesterday we had our February meetup, hosted by Nicole of  Nicole-Marie Who? (above) at her lovely apartment meeting room setting.  We enjoyed a delicious brunch of mini croissants, quiche, chocolate truffles, ambrosia fruit salad, coconut macaroons, and champagne and orange juice.

Jenni

Sam from Samantha Rosen helped with the beautiful decorations, and Jenni from A Well-Crafted Party (and her new venture, LeavetheLaundryforLater.com [love it!!]) coordinated the meetup and provided the crafts for all of us.

First we went around the room and introduced ourselves.  We were all floored by the blogger behind @PreschoolGems (pictured above, in the orange), who has 111,000 followers on Twitter!!  (That’s one-hundred-eleven thousand!)

I think leopard ballet flats are a trend this year!!

I then had the privilege of giving a 20-minute talk about how to increase your following and gain readers, which is a topic I was asked a lot about at the last meeting.  All of us are at so many different stages in our blogging journeys, but it’s a topic that I think is relevant no matter how big your blog is.

Blab, blab, blab.

(Thanks to Olga from Vintage Pretty for the photo of me!!)

Hopefully I shared some useful tips and ideas with everyone!

We then had a craft where we made rolled fabric roses for leather bracelets and hairpins.  I made two in my favorite color for a sweet little bobby pin (just roll and hot glue!!)  Imagine making some of these for a little girl in your life, in satin, tulle, and chiffon – or addings rhinestones and pearls!  What a pretty Valentine’s Day present would that be?!

Pretty bloggers in their red and pink!

I had a great time and can’t wait to see everyone again at the next meeting in April!

Thanks to Jenni and Nicole for having me!!:-D
