Ideeli has a couple more one-question polls for ya if you enjoy taking these things.
Earlier this month, David Arquette started prepping for the final blowout sale at his pop up shop, Propr Clothing on Abbott Kinney Boulevard in Venice, CA. Propr is closing after being open for 3 months.
The idea of a pop up store at first glance is a genius idea for a brand or designer that wants to showcase a diffusion line, or who cannot fully commit to a long term lease. But now has the pop up charm worn off especially since so many ho-hum sample sale events are now trying to bill themselves as “pop ups”? Share your opinion with us. Take the poll below. Feel free to share the names of your favorite pop up shops in the comment box.
The new PETA ad featuring First Lady Michelle Obama, which the White House says is using Michelle Obama’s image without her permission, is popping up in Washington’s Metro stations, magazines, and PETA’s Web site. Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Carrie Underwood, and Tyra Banks all shun wearing fur. We want to know your thoughts on the fur debate. Take our poll below and remember, we love you either way!

I used to be like ONLY FAUX FUR AND ONLY ORGANIC MATERIALS. But yea know that is a bit much and so I believe it is ok if it is vintage/already bought furs but when im buying them new it is only faux fur. I also still watch the materials as well but not as strict as i used to be.

I have a few pieces of vintage fur from my grandmother that I keep more for nostalgia than anything. I don't have a problem with fur, but I really enjoy wearing leather. Nothing really compares to the smell, warmth, or feel, especially in boots (my leather shoes all fit best, whereas I still get blisters from “pleather” ones I've had for years). While I don't necessarily like the idea of producing animals for fur, I'm happy that the industry still produces jobs for people and can't really argue with that in our present economy. Also, with so many animals killed for food, I think it would be an awful waste if we didn't use their skin for leather.
I appreciate what PETA tries to do, but not necessarily with how they do it most of the time. There's a quote somewhere that goes something like “PETA will throw red paint on old ladies in fur coats, but not bikers in leather jackets,” and it seems to sum up their whole practice of attacking groups who can't really defend themselves, but are not the source of the problem…like old ladies in vintage furs and obese people, who I bet you aren't overweight because of meat anyway. (Trust me, there are plenty of overweight and obese vegans too; it's not the cure-all diet.)
I'll get off my soapbox now 🙂
